To help you with your hire we have listed below some frequently asked questions that you may find useful, you can view these by scrolling down the page. If you have any additional questions or simply just need some advice then please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • What documentation do I need to provide?
    Hiring tools with Daventry Tool Hire is simple. if you’re hiring for the very first time we will need to verify your details prior to delivery of the equipment to your nominated address. We require two forms of corresponding ID (e.g. driver's license or passport) and a recent proof of address (e.g. utility bill or bank statement).
  • What hire periods are available?
    Most products are available to hire for just 1 day, however a small number of items have a minimum period of 3 days or 1 weeks hire. Our hire period structure is: 1 Day - Hire is for 24 hours from the time of receipt of our equipment. 2 Days - Hire is for 48 hours from the time of receipt of our equipment. 3 Days - Hire is for 72 hours from the time of receipt of our equipment. 1 Week - Hire is for 7 days from the time of receipt of our equipment. Weekend - Hire from 9.00am on Saturday until 10.00am Monday morning. If available equipment may be delivered on Friday afternoon. Note - Equipment that is to be collected by ourselves will be considered ‘Off Hire’ once we have been instructed by the customer that it is available for collection. The security of any equipment remains the hirers responsibility until it has been physically collected by ourselves. The equipment will be collected at the earliest opportunity that is convenient for you – Usually the same or next working day.
  • I need to hire equipment for longer than 1 week, what are the prices?"
    For equipment needed to be hired for longer than 1 week please contact us directly. We may be able to offer you special discounts too.
  • Can I reserve equipment for a later date?
    Yes, equipment may be reserved in advance by telephone, email or in writing. We will require a small holding deposit that can be charged against a credit or debit card or paid for by cash. We recommend booking your equipment as early as practically possible.
  • I’ve never hired tools before, will I be shown how to use the equipment?"
    We offer demonstrations on the safe working and operation of all of our equipment. In addition to this an owners manual with step by step instructions will be provided to you upon receipt of the equipment. If, at any point during the hire of our equipment you feel unsure please do not hesitate to give us a call.
  • How much does delivery and collection cost?
    We offer a FREE delivery and collection service on all equipment within a 5 mile radius of Daventry. Rates for delivery and collection outside of this area will vary depending upon your location. Please contact us to be provided with a competitive quote. Every effort will be made to have the equipment collected and delivered at a time specified by you.
  • Do I need to pay a deposit?
    Yes, a deposit is charged on all hire equipment. This is fully refunded when the equipment is safely returned.
  • Do you accept credit or debit card?
    Daventry Tool Hire accepts all major credit and debit cards, we also accept cash payments on most equipment too.
  • What are your opening times?
    We are open from 7am till 5pm Monday to Friday and 7am till 3pm Saturdays. Deliveries and collections are normally made from Monday morning until Saturday at 3pm. If requested or in case of an emergency we may be able to deliver and collect outside of these hours, although an additional rate will be required.
  • How do I cancel a hire?
    If for any reason you wish to cancel your hire you can cancel by calling or emailing us directly. We kindly ask for adequate notice of cancellation as we may have already incurred charges relating to the preparation and transportation of the hire equipment.
  • Is fuel included with my hire?
    Unfortunately not, the hired equipment will come with a full tank of fuel and is to be returned with a full tank of fuel. If this is not possible we can refill on return and a charge will be applied per litre. Important: From 1st April 2022, all fuel used in our machines is white diesel/petrol (depending on machine) in line with government legislation. As such any customer must only use white diesel or petrol when refilling the machines. Any filling of red diesel will result in a charge to drain down, dispose, clean and refill the machine. If refuelling we kindly ask that the correct fuel is being used.
  • Will you provide me with the correct PPE?
    Here at Daventry Tool Hire we are very safety conscious and want to make sure you're safe too. We will advise the correct PPE at the point of hire and can supply all equipment on a sale or return basis.
  • Do I need to clean the equipment before returning it?
    We kindly ask that you clean all equipment hired from us before returning it. A cleaning charge may be applied if equipment is returned to us dirty.
  • I have found cheaper tool hire elsewhere.
    In the unlikely event that you have found cheaper rates elsewhere we may be able beat the quote that you have been provided. Please give us a call.
  • What are your terms and conditions?

  • How do I make a complaint?
    We work hard to delight our customers. However, if you don't feel your hire experience was everything it should've been, we'd like to know so we can do something about it. Please email us with your concerns and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
  • 30-day account?
    If you would like to hire from us on a regular basis we can offer you up to 30 days hire credit, Please contact by email or by telephone to discuss this option.
